Never judge a book by it's cover.
As a past employee, I have first hand, real knowledge of what a typical day is like here in this facility. (and other locations) I will not go into details of any sort, but I will say this... RUN!!!

Exceptional, above average child care
This facility has a low turnover on GREAT teachers who are very caring and highly trained, wonderful amenities (i.e. new toys every year, a splash pool, two shaded outdoor playgrounds, indoor playground, computer lab, soda shop for cooking and crafts, field trips for older kids, etc). They also nutritionally revamped their menu recently (spring 2011) to include more vegetables, grilled meats and ground turkey, fresh fruits, water and milk only during the day (juice served at breakfast as mandated by the state) and eliminated sugary foods like cookies/puddings as stand alone snack items. The menu changes are a wonderful addition to an already stellar center.

The tuition is pricey. Tuition is paid in two week blocks, so price range listed below is the cost you would pay every 2 weeks for one child with exact cost depending on age of child (the older the child, the less you pay). My child loves this day care, feels good about going and is most often excited to go, is stimulated and challenged during the day and gets lots of playtime and group interaction with peers. The staff and administration are open to parent suggestions, are welcoming of parent visits during the day and communicate well with parents about the day care's activities.

Facility is always clean and toys/tables etc are disinfected at the end of each day. Hand washing throughout the day is encouraged and practiced by both teachers and kids - my 4 year old voluntarily washes his hands now before and after meals, after playing outside and after restroom breaks!

Reading is also encouraged - teachers read to class each day, even in the younger rooms, and kids have independent "book time" during each day to look at the class library of books.

Overall, my personal experience (over 3 years) with CR has been fantastic. I now have 2 children there - I would not take my kids anywhere else!

Country Home Teach Very Well To My Son
We moved to the San Antonio area last year & had no childcare. Upon researching several options, we decided on Country Home. Let me begin by saying that it's not an easy job that any learning center has: teaching children, especially at a young age, is challenging at the least. The fact is that Country Home has been one of the best things to happen to us since living here. Some may feel that's overstated, and i would disagree. Our child, Zachary, is the most important person to my wife & myself. He cannot decide things for himself, does not have enough reasoning capability yet to know even right from wrong. That's where Country Home has been there. They've taught him how to interact with other children, as well as adults, they have also taught him that theres a time for naps, and a time for play, etc. The teaching staff, if Zacharys teachers Danielle & Amy are any indication, are exemplary. We will soon be relocating back to the San Francisco area, and i recently told my wife that one big regret is that there are no Country Home Learning Centers back home. When i drop my son off in the morning, it's never an easy thing for me to leave him with anyone. But knowing that he's not just being "babysat", and that he's actually learning & interacting, doing arts & crafts, and playing outside, as well as indoors, gives me peace of mind as a parent. Country Home will always have my vote, and we will always stop by when visiting family after we leave, so i can always show Zachary his first school. Thank You, truly.
