I rarely head into downtown San Antonio, but I have found my calling, my spot, favorite go to... you name it I've found it!!

I love the relaxed atmosphere and high class martini selection they offer at SoHo. This place offers such a first rate selection of liquid yumminess that I attempt to make it in as often as possible. I rarely eat dessert, but Soho is my guilty pleasure. They offer a variety of specialty martinis and their mixologists are consistently whipping up new ones.. literally whipping up.. their dessert martinis that is; Key Lime Tini, Crème Brulee Tini, Carrot Cake Tini, Samoa Girl Scout Cookie Tini and many more are each made by one of the their stellar bar tenders and finished off with extra love and whipped marshmallow topping. Don't let the over the top presentation fool you into thinking you won't be seeing double. Two of these delicacies and you'll be feeling great... Really great!!

One of the great vibes of this place is that it's such a warm atmosphere you feel that everyone's your best friend... it very well could be the martinis, but none the less it's got a great vibe. I've come in for anything from birthday parties to after pub run meet ups to long days by the pool to date nights and no matter how I've been dressed the people will be cool, the bar tenders will rock and you'll leave with a sweet tooth cure and a great buzz for a long downtown night of dancing.

After reading some of these other reviews, I felt like I had to speak up for what I consider to be the best bar in down town San Antonio. It has the upscale feel of some of the more expensive bars on the northside or in the higher end hotels, without the price tag. Although Soho is not that old, it has a naturally classy, aged feeling to it. I'm sure some of this has to do with the building, the experienced ownership, and the fact that they don't appear to be "trying too hard" to make an identity. This is especially refreshing as my beloved river walk is becoming more and more sterilized by the many chain restaurants and bars.

When I go into Soho, I can expect intelligent service, craftsmanship in the drinks, and a unique experience every time.

Ok PeggyStanton...not sure what bar you went to? This is the best bar I have been to in my 28 years! I'm not an alcoholic but I've been known to throw a few cold ones back. It is the perfect place to take a date, hang out with friends, hell you can even take your mother there to get a nice glass of wine after church at St. Mary's. Hey us Catholics start drinking at Mass! You can go dressed up...dressed down. Awesome service...Great music...they DO have a good selection of music. Maybe the voices in your head are louder than your surroundings peggy! even though you seem to be anti-NFL!!! (GO COWBOYS..THAT'S FOR YOU JERRY!) It's my cheers! The staff makes the best drinks downtown at good prices! Go in have a seat...drink a martini or an ice cold beer..most likely you will find me there! ah you like that! If you don't drink...hell at least go in to learn some history....or stare at the good looking bar staff! It's a win-win situation! Come back Peggy...I'll show you a good time!

This cozy =nook of downtown is nestled between the Watermark Hotel and Club Rive on Crockett street. The bar has a classy, laid-back, lounge feel to it and the staff are just as laid-back, but still provide the best in service. Lutfy, Ron, Jerry, Eddie and everyone there make it a point to make everyone feel welcomed, at home, and amongst family. Their personal touch of service and comraderie is what gives Soho that edge above all the bars. They have a great drink selection and a great selection of wines and cigars. I recommend the house wines.

I do wish they sold more wines by the glass instead of the bottle and that they had a better selection of Mexican imported beer.

SoHo is my favorite place to go out to in San Antonio! It has a classy, old-timey feel to it with a local flavor. It's set in an old bank building in the touristy Riverwalk area, yet the majority of its clientele are a pretty friendly lot who live in San Antonio. Come dressed to the nine's or casual: everyone's welcome! The music ranges from funk to blues to pop tunes, but it's at a moderate level where you can actually hold a conversation with the people next to you without having to lose your voice. Sometimes you can catch a major game playing on the TV; however, I did ask once that the channel be changed from a Spurs game, and since no one else was watching the TV, they were completely willing to do so. The service is always friendly and willing to have a conversation if you like, and the owners are very knowledgeable about their liquors and wines. I'm more of a beer drinker myself, but these guys know how to mix a cocktail, and the signature tinis are mighty tasty. Prices are about average for San Antonio. The only down side is having to deal with parking in downtown, but it seems to me that most places here in SA have some kind of parking issues. Overall, I highly recommend this place!
