"Nice Green Course in Austin by Nathan H. at InsiderPages "The Jimmy Clay Golf Course is located off Stassney Lane, near Hwy 290. They have a beautiful course, it is very well established, and also very secluded. You wouldn't know you were in Austin except for the short drive to get there. They have a very moderate green fee, very helpful staff, a pro shop with golf supplies for every need. They are normally not crowded.
"Horrible greens"Played about 2 weeks ago. Will not be going back. Greens in horrible shape I couldnt belive they charged full price. I think just chaging cart fee MIGHT be reasonable for some people but not for me. Also Jimmy Clay is not in the best shape either. Fairways are very hard and some of the greens are not in the best shape either. Dont know what the point was closing the course for nearly a year...

"Best greens in town "Very nice greens . Whole course in great shape for that matter. Staff very friendly and helpful. Greenskeepper knows their stuff.
"Waste of Money!"This was not worth what I paid!!! I have paid the same amount at other courses and been much more satisfied. The staff was helpful but not exactly friendly, the course needed to have the potholes filled in, the carts could barely get up the hills AND people were dressed in jeans and wife-beaters! I obviously wan't a happy camper, but I honestly feel like I was getting riped off.

"Avery in its Rearview"Through the heat, freeze and Austin traffic it continues to, year after year, remain in wonderful playing shape. Offering challenge, but not punishing you average golfer. Accomidations are top rate and it gives you every reason to want to come back for more...even when the game of golf itself sometimes doesn't.
PS...it better watch out for AVERY RANCH...

"Very friendly and playable"The staff is very polite and I always enjoy myself wether playing a round or practicing on the driving range or putting green.
"A real beginners course"A perfect course if you are just picking up the game. Holes are short, greens are hard, and no challenge. I would expect to pay a less for a course like this. Neat double decker driving range, though. If you are intimidated by a real course this is the place to go.

" Golf course of choise. "To play a course that seems to be designed to fit its environs is a rare pleasure. Bandit draws the golfer into a sense of enjoyment that most courses do not. It is challenging in its design. Rewarding good shots with great results. Bandit challenges you to go for it. Each hole has its own unique character and individuality. Boredom is not a word you will find on this course. Your staff is...

"Absolutely Beautiful"This is a one of the most challenging courses I have ever played. I don't cosider it any more difficult than any other course, but you have to manage your game smartly on this course. It will humble the best golfer in a heart beat. I do consider it a fun golf course.
"Perfection Required"This is a beautiful course that is very demanding of even the "perfect" player. I would not recommend an average or higher player to play this course because it will leave them frustrated with their game because even the occasional perfect shot is penalized. We were not told there was a tournament being played on the day that we scheduled our play. The result was only playing 13 of the...
