If prime rib with horseradish sauce makes you hungry, then Houstons will be a prime spot for you to visit in Austin. In a town full of steak houses this one has some seriously great food. Flavorful, tender, juicy steak cooked the way you like it and the most lovely side dishes to go with. The balance of the steak and sides is always just right and leaves you totally satisfied.

Yes, it's little and kind of a deli. Actually it's a reality lunch show with food. Lucretia knows everyone's name in the neighborhood and we all show up for her fat juicy sandwiches. There are pictures of all the locals and a penciled height chart of generations of Brentwood children's growth spurts on a door jam. You can sit outside under the big tree or inside at the tiny tables covered with clear plastic covering collages of photos of your neighbors.

You buy a little chunk of Texas property in Dripping Springs and where do you go to have a Lone Star to celebrate? Bert and Ernie's is just down the road with a nice outdoor patio with a big tree in the center where there's live music in the summer evenings. A place on the Hamilton Pool Road for summer swimmers to pick up forgotten items and later to watch the sun go down.

Pizza thin and elegant and delicious. Cole slaw that wil bite back. Lunches that last past dinner time. Lovely selections of wine. Round tables with casual neighborhood table talk. Italian food that is light and delicious with fresh ingredients. Tango night on Thursday. Comfortable casual dining.

Networking moshpit. Day after day, buisness card after business card, your contacts pile up in the interactive conference. The frogdesign party is the first night and is filled with the best dressed conference goers. The EFF party is the most political and somehow sercious in spite of all the fun had by all. Dorkbot is geeks and nerds and robots. If you want to party with robots this is the event for you. Then you have the actual conference with more information about web 2.0, the death of the book, and there are several panels about online communities like this one. I hope others will review the film and music conferences. SXSW is a very ecucational place to max out.
